My first attempt at making fried rice and it turned almost near perfect! It was supposed to have chorizo but the butcher only had very spicy chorizo so we had herb & garlic sausages instead. Super yummy!

Meal plan is a little late this week after I fell asleep on the couch last night. I really need to get more sleep but am only managing about 3 or 4 hours a night at the moment. Lots of fun.
Fairly quiet week this week. Lily had her first swimming lessons back this morning but it was a complete failure. I don’t know if it’s because it’s been quite a few weeks since she went or if she was overtired because she didn’t get to sleep until 10.30pm last night, but she just screamed and refused to participate, even when Mr Monkey got in the pool with her. I’m hoping against hope that she’ll back to normal next week. She usually loves swimming.
We’re about to go do the grocery shopping and then I’ll get stuck in to today’s 20 Day Challenge Tasks. Dinner tonight is a Sesame Beef Stir Fry from the new Super Food Ideas Magazine.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be quiet days at home, working through the cleaning tasks. Simple meals of Sweet & Sour Chicken and Heston’s Spaghetti Carbonara those nights.
Thursday is a busy day – meeting my parents at Spotlight in the morning to choose some fabric to make a bunting for Lily’s birthday party next month and then on to an appointment at the Birth Centre. In the afternoon we have a special afternoon tea at Lily’s school. On the way home we’ll pick up some fish and hopefully Mr Monkey will cook it – apparently he’s been doing a special at his work of grilled fish, sauteed veg salad and honey, rosemary and mustard sauce so he will make it at home.
Friday is Lily’s school day and hopefully she goes better this week. Mr Monkey should have the evening off so we are trying a special meal of a Bento Box – I got the idea and recipes from the February – March edition of the new SBS Feast Magazine. I’ll have to prepare some of the chicken during the day and the dressings for the salads but it should be fairly quick and easy to put it all together. Should be fun too!
Saturday we are meeting the wonderful Amy for coffee in the morning and then home to finish cleaning. The Potato & Broccoli Tortilla recipe also comes from the new SBS Feast Magazine. Should be interesting!
Sunday we’re heading out to Grandma & Grandad’s for dinner again.
