So Mr Monkey’s horror work week last week didn’t end up turning out as bad as he thought. The new menu didn’t end up going up and so he didn’t need to work as much. He surprised me with a phone call on Tuesday to say he was coming home early and he’d be home for dinner. He had Wednesday and Thursday off and then surprised me again with the evening off on Saturday. I’d started the week thinking that he wouldn’t really be home at all and actually had him home quite a bit!

The new menu should go up this week and he has rejigged the roster so that he is working Monday to Friday. Yeah that’s right, Saturday and Sunday off! That never happens. But it’s the easiest way for him to prepare for the new menu and then teach the other chefs the new meals, plus still have some time off. I envision a lazy weekend around the house, with perhaps some weeding and mowing happening.

Lily had an impromptu sleepover at my parents’ over the weekend – my Mum came up Friday morning before I dropped Lily at school and Mum came with me to the Baby & Toddler Show. She then picked Lily up from school in the afternoon and took her home and brought her back yesterday. Lily loved the two nights spent with Granny & Poppy but unfortunately got sick on Saturday night! Fortunately, it looks like it was just a 24hr bug and she was fine by Sunday evening.

This week, she’s heading to Grandma & Grandad’s for a sleepover on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We are so, so lucky to have such supportive family and I know Lily simply adores the time she spends with all of them.

Nothing too exciting on the meal plan this week. A few meals didn’t get used last week as we had takeaway a few nights. They’ve been moved to this week, although I forgot to plan that we will probably be having dinner at Grandma’s on Thursday night when I go to pick up Lily. Of course, I could’ve changed the meal plan to reflect that but… I’m lazy. So I’ll just move things around during the week.

What’s on your meal plan this week?
