Yes, half of the meals are the same as last week. We got sick earlier in the week so a meal wasn’t used, I had leftovers another night because I was home alone and not up to cooking and we went to Grandma’s house for dinner one night.
We also went to Mr Monkey’s work for dinner on Saturday night – the new menu finally started so he wanted to make sure the other staff were preparing the meals correctly when he wasn’t there. So we caught the train in, sat upstairs in the Hotel’s garden and then sitting room (under 18’s aren’t allowed in the pub or bar) and Mr Monkey organised the food through the bar so the kitchen staff didn’t know he was there. He was glad he did it as there were a few issues he found (all easily fixed) and now the staff know how important it is to him that all of the food is prepared correctly. Plus, we got to eat some great food and had a fun trip into the city. The image above (click through if you’re reading via RSS or email) is of the Beef Cheek & Potato Croquettes with Jus. Yum!!
I’ve filled in the rest of the week’s meals using two magazines I got this week – the Healthy Food Guide Magazine and Super Food Ideas Magazine. The Creamy chicken, pea & spinach penne is a one-pot dish (you cook the penne in the sauce) so I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes.
We’ve got a fairly busy week this week with different appointments and the usuals – Lily swimming and school, plus the final week of my 8 week QuickBooks course (2 lessons released each week).
