I seem to be addicted to buying cooking magazines lately. I can’t seem to stop myself from buying them if I see a new one in the supermarket. I’ve started getting Healthy Food Guide Magazine delivered every month as I buy it every single month anyway, might as well save money!
I tend to only read them once and I mark the recipes that I like as I go. I then use those recipes in the next week’s meal plan, put the magazine away and forget about it. I should probably start going through old magazines for the recipes I didn’t use.
This week’s recipes are mostly from the Super Food Ideas Magazine for this month. This is a cheap magazine – only $2.95 but tends to have great, easy recipes.
I’m especially looking forward to the Chorizo, Chickpea & Spinach Stew. I love chorizo but haven’t found a good chorizo yet. Our Woolworths sells some that aren’t too bad but I don’t really like to buy meat (or fruit and vegetable) from there. However, the chorizo at our butcher is very spicy. I can get a mild one from the other butcher but it doesn’t have a lot of flavour. Also, the uncooked sausages tend to lack the real smoky flavour of the dried ones. I’ll have to do some more investigating.
