Quiet week this week. I’m actually stressing out a bit because I feel like I must have missed something – there’s no way we could have a week with nothing happening!

Of course, there’s the usuals – Lily’s swimming lesson, grocery shopping, Lily at school Thursday and Friday. But… that’s it. I seriously can’t remember the last time my calendar has been this empty.

It’s actually probably a very good thing. Money has been super, super tight lately so we won’t be able to afford to really do anything this week. It’s rather depressing when all of your money goes to grocery shopping and not much else.

It will also be good to have a bit of a break and relax after a rather hectic few months. I’ve been feeling rather low lately so hopefully a bit of a break will help boost me up again. The housework has also fallen off so it will be good to be able to spend a week and really get into that.

I’m also hoping to get out for a few runs this week. There’s less than a month until the Cooks River Fun Run and I still am nowhere near able to run the full 5kms. As I’m writing this (2pm on Saturday afternoon on my parents’ couch) I’m trying to find the motivation to get out and go for a run. I’m up to Week 6 Day 3 of the Ease into 5k app which is a 20min straight run. To be honest, I’m scared. That’s a long time. But going off what I’ve done recently it will probably only be about 2.5km at the most. Still a lot further to go!

Not sure how much we’ll have Mr Monkey around this week. Vivid has started in the city so his work will (hopefully) be very busy. Of course, that also means he has to work more. Poor man is exhausted already and it’s only just beginning! He only got one day off last week, on which he still had to attend a meeting, and I’m really hoping he’s able to work more time off this week. It would be nice to actually see him this week.

Anyway, better go on that run!

ETA: I did it! I got off my butt, left a very grumpy Chloe with my sister and dad and went for a run. I left it until a stupid time to go (2.45pm) and the sun was out and it was hot. I haven’t really run after food before so that made it a bit more difficult. I’m at my parents’ house and the route I run here is a bit harder as there are more hills.

But I did it! I ran for 20mins straight which ended up being about 2.66km. I then decided to extend the cool down walk until I got to 5km, just to prove to myself that I could at least walk that far.

I’m dying now, not sure how I’ll get through dinner and movie but I DID IT!

    Great job on the running too! I have just gotten back into my walking, but I don’t ever see myself running ;/ maybe in the future (very, very, distant future lol)
