We got our Santa photo taken last week! Highly recommend going to the QVB – it’s a little more expensive but it’s definitely worth it. Best service I’ve ever seen at a Santa photo thing

Fun week this week. This morning we drove back up in the fog and rain from my parents’ house and Lily had her last swimming lesson for the year. It’s so great to see how much she has learnt since January – she can now paddle and kick (at the same time!), she jumps in to the water and runs along the mat and is an expert at blowing bubbles. She loves it and gets so excited when it’s swimming day. We gave her teacher a small present to say thank you – Lily loves her and she’s one of the only people that Lily will go to willingly. She goes back mid-January and I know she’ll miss it until then.

This afternoon Mr Monkey has a doctor’s appointment to get his vaccinations for his Thailand trip and then we are heading out to his parents’ house for dinner.

Tomorrow I will be spending the morning cleaning the house and hopefully baking before one of the Mums Group mum’s comes over with her daughter for a play date with Lily. It’s the first time I’ve had any of them to my house (we couldn’t have Mums Group here because it is too small) and I’m hoping the kids will have a good time. Mr Monkey should be home for dinner and I’ve planned Spaghetti and Meatballs – when we made burgers last week Mr Monkey used some of the leftover mince to make the meatballs and we froze them.

Wednesday will be spent doing errands – a trip to the library to return some books and then grocery shopping and probably a bit of housework too. I’m hoping salmon is fairly cheap this week and have planned a Parmesan Crusted Baked Salmon from the 4 Ingredients – Herb it Up Cookbook that I got a while ago when I bought two Gourmet Garden herb tubes. Unfortunately the promotion is no longer running but there is some good simple recipes in the book.

Thursday will be a day at home, probably cleaning and doing some blog organising – I’m hoping to get some posts scheduled for over Christmas. I thought we’d give some baked potatoes a go with sweet corn and sour cream. Yum!

Friday will be another day at home and Mr Monkey is also working all day and evening this week. I’ve got the old favourite of curried sausages planned – either in the slow cooker or on the stove top.

Saturday I’m planning to make cupcakes to take on Sunday and Mr Monkey should be home for dinner. I found this recipe for Paprika roast chicken with chorizo and white beans on the Gourmet Traveller website and it looks interesting and something a little different for us.

Sunday we are having a picnic in the park (if the weather clears up!!!) with Amy & Caitlyn so I’ve just planned to get takeaway that night to make it easier.

So that’s our week! What do you have planned?
