Week 3 of the 1 Million Kilo Challenge. Last week went fairly well, all things considered. We had a few meals out for Lily’s birthday but I tried to chose the healthier options, not that there really is much! Mr Monkey was very good – I had chips with lunch on Lily’s birthday and that night at dinner he didn’t ask but simply got vegetables with my steak. Lucky he did as I was going to ask for chips!!
I also did a lot more exercise – 4 times on the Wii! I’m finding that I’m really loving seeing the stats at the end – e.g. 34 mins, 3 mins straight jogging, 2.8km cycling, 995 steps on free stepping. It’s not much but I love to see it improving. I just have to keep it up!
This week we are getting back in to a fairly normal routine finally. Monday Mr Monkey’s parents are taking Lily to her swimming lesson while we check out from our hotel (anniversary celebration) and then head to the Picasso Exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW. I’m super excited – I love to go to the art gallery and it’s been quite a while since I did. I studied Picasso in school so it should be interesting to see his works up close. I also studied Monet and actually got a bit teary when I saw his Water Lilies in person. Yes, I’m a sook.
We’ll be heading home after the exhibition and taking Lily back from the grandparents. I’m hoping she behaves and they have a great time. I’ve changed the meal plan from the 1 Million Kilo Challenge (for those playing at home), just to be able to use what we have in the house. So it’s Chicken Curry and Rice for dinner. I’m hoping the curry isn’t too spicy.
Tuesday will be grocery day. It’s Valentine’s Day but Mr Monkey and I don’t tend to celebrate it as our anniversary is so close. He normally works too. The meal plan for the 1MKC included a special meal so I thought I would make it anyway – Baked Snapper with Mango Salsa, Baked Potato, Broccoli & Passionfruit Souffles for dessert. Sounds like fun.
Wednesday through Saturday are going to be spent at home probably, cleaning and de-cluttering time. There’s some interesting meals in there – I’m actually really looking forward to the Spaghetti Carbonara and seeing how tasty it is as it’s a healthier version.
I need to organise Lily’s 2 year check up sometime during the week too. I didn’t want to schedule it last week as she had quite a busy week and I didn’t want her to get too overwhelmed. She doesn’t like our doctor very much (although he is a wonderful and caring doctor) but I suppose most of her trips to see him aren’t very pleasant. He does normally give her needles after all. Thankfully there is no needles this time, just weighing and general check up.
Sunday there have been talks of having dinner with the mums from our Mums Group. The plans haven’t been set in stone yet but I’m hoping it goes ahead – we don’t have much chance to catch up and it’s nice for us to get out without the kids.
So that’s our week. How is yours looking?
