Really exciting week this week!!
Monday we have Lily’s swimming lesson as usual and I should be getting my business cards delivered! I am so excited to see these and yes I will probably dedicate a whole blog post to them. We need to do the grocery shopping so will probably head down after swimming. I’m hoping to go for a run in the evening (it’s been almost a month since I last went! In my defence I have been sick) and Mr Monkey will probably be in charge of cooking the Pumpkin & Sunflower Seed Cannelloni. I’m still not really a fan of pumpkin but I’m finding I can tolerate it when it’s with something else – e.g. pasta or meat that I can eat with the pumpkin to mask the flavour and texture a little.
On Tuesday I’m heading off to another lunch (I’ll probably blog about that next week) and my Mum is coming up to look after Lily and take her to the playground. Mr Monkey has to work so that he can take time off later in the week so Lily and I will be enjoying the marinated salmon. Mmmmmm!!
Wednesday or Thursday I’m hoping to nab an appointment at the hairdressers to have my hair cut if my in-laws are able to babysit. I’d normally get my hair dyed as well but we can’t afford it at the moment so I’ll have to live with just a cut. Luckily my colour has faded so that the regrowth isn’t really noticeable.
And now for the most exciting part of the week! On Friday I’ll be getting up super, super early to catch the 6am flight to Melbourne for the Digital Parents Conference! It’s going to be a full on day but I am so, so excited. It will be my first blogging conference (I’ve been to a lunch last week, lunch this week and met a few bloggers at a book launch last year) so I’m very, very nervous but excited to meet everyone and learn something new.
I’m also excited as it’s the first time I’ve ever caught a plane or stayed in a hotel room by myself. It just seems to have happened that I’ve never had the opportunity to go by myself anywhere; I went with my family and then Mr Monkey. It’s a little daunting but so very exciting. (Have I mentioned that I’m excited?!)
And then on Saturday I’m attending the Kids Business Bloggers BBQ, a chance to meet some brands and get some exposure for my blog. Not to mention a chance to mingle some more with the other bloggers. Plus I’m looking forward to another chance of handing out my funky business cards!
I’ll have to leave the BBQ a little early as my flight leaves around 3pm and I’m heading back home to Lily and Mr Monkey. I’m so happy that they will have the chance to spend some time with just the two of them – normally when Mr Monkey is home I’m still around as well. I’m sure there will be a few “mummy?!” moments but I’m sure she’ll be fine.
We’ll probably grab some takeaway on the way home from the airport and then I’m likely to have an early night. It will have been a full on 2 days!!
Sunday we are catching up with our Mums Group. It’s been quite awhile since we’ve all caught up. We were going to originally go to one of the mums’ house who lives down south but one of the other mums is pregnant and has been advised not to travel too far from the hospital. So not sure as yet where we will be meeting but am very excited to see everyone, and have the babies play together. I wasn’t going to plan dinner for Sunday night but the carbonara is fairly easy.
So that’s our exciting week this week! I’m hoping to schedule a few posts so that I don’t have to worry too much while I’m away. But make sure to follow me on Twitter and follow the hashtag #DPCon12 to keep up with what’s happening at the Digital Parents Conference.
