Our Camping Trip - in photos - The Flying Drunken Monkey

For some reason lately I seem to have stopped taking photos with my dSLR (Nikon d40x if you’re interested). So, I was really looking forward to taking my camera on our camping trip and getting back in to it. I had a few times where I just pulled out the camera as we were hanging around the campsite and got some nice photos of the girls.

I took around 500 photos and ended up with 300 once I had edited them down. I’ve shared just a few here. :)

  2. Great shots! Looks like a lovely trip! I’ve recently started carting my DSLR around with me everywhere I go, with kids you never know when the perfect opportunity is going to arise…

Thanks Emma! Yeah, I’ve been thinking about carrying it around with me. I find I only tend to get it out for special occasions and use my iPhone for every day photos.

Thanks Alicia. Haha it was pretty amazing to have it come so close! My lens is a fixed lens so it really was that close!
Oh yes, she got very, very dirty! :)

I like your interpretation of Wordless Wednesday. Especially the night shots done with variable shutter speed. I have been experimenting with shutter speeds of late and coincidentally posted something similar last week for Wordless wednesday. http://forestwoodfolkart.wordpress.com/2014/03/13/wordless-wednesday-4/

  6. […] This year we went back to Green Patch Camping Grounds with Mr Monkey’s family. Again we had an unpowered site, basic amenities and close to the beach. This time we had extra babysitters and entertainment! Lily had just turned 4 years old and we also had Chloe who was 9 months old. […]

Can I ask what size site you were on both the years you camped at green patch?

Hi! Sorry I didn’t see your comment come through as I am no longer using this blog.
I’m not entirely sure which size sites we were on, however I assume they were larger ones as we have a fairly large tent.
