McCormick Marinade in a Bag Giveaway - The Flying Drunken Monkey

We recieved a parcel the other week – parcels are always cause for a great deal of excitement in this house. McCormick sure didn’t disappoint. Packaged with a beautiful red bow and a sweet little note were a few foil roasting trays, a red oven glove, a gift card and 4 of McCormick’s new products – Marinade in a Bag.

There are four different flavours of these marinades:

♥ Honey & Soy – an authentic Asian blend of honey, soy sauce and garlic with a hint of black pepper.
♥ Teriyaki – an Asian inspired blend of premium soy sauce with honey, ginger and sesame seeds.
♥ Sticky BBQ – a superb blend of rich tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce and spices to create a sweet, tangy flavour with a hint of smoke.
♥ Red Wine & Garlic – robust flavours of red wine and crushed garlic with a special
blend of herbs and cracked black pepper.

We tried the Teriyaki last week. I bought some fish (I think it was Sea Perch) and marinated it in the bag overnight. The bags are super easy to use – just unfold, cut off the top, put the meat in the bag, re-seal it and make sure the meat is covered in the marinade. You can marinade for as little as 30 minutes but as with any marinades, the longer you marinate them for the stronger the flavour.

I then simply cooked some brown rice, pan-fried the fish, and stir fried some veggies using the leftover marinade.

The fish soaked up the marinade and the flavours were strong without being overpowering. It worked well as a sauce for the veggies as well.

I’m a big fan of teriyaki so loved it and Lily ate all of her fish so she obviously loved it too. Mr Monkey is a bit of a purist when it comes to Japanese food but he ate it all without complaint.

Lily had to take a photo of her dinner too. She’s such a blogger’s daughter.

We’ll be trying the Honey & Soy tomorrow night with a chicken stir fry but based on the Teriyaki I’m confident it will be good.

McCormick® Marinade in a Bag is available in Coles supermarkets nationally from early November, RRP $2.99. Each 200g bag coats up to one kilogram of meat.
