No meal plan this week as our kitchen floor is still in the process of being fixed and we are not sure when it’s going to be finished. We’ll just have to take it on a day-to-day basis and be a bit creative (or just get a lot of takeaway!)
I tried to get a lot done in the Bedrooms last week and yet… nup. To be fair, we had extra stress after the hole was discovered in the kitchen floor on Monday. It was then supposed to be fixed on Wednesday/ Thursday but all of our plans were thrown in to further disarray when the tradespeople didn’t turn up or turned up on the wrong day. I think there was some major miscommunications between the real estate and the different tradespeople. We’ve had a guy in today working on replacing the rotten beams so hopefully we’ll get the tiler in tomorrow and then the plumber in to reconnect the stove when the tiles are dry.
I also came down with a lot of stomach pain on Friday – I had an ultrasound on Thursday (hello little bubba!!) and I think with all of the ligaments loosening and stretching the movement of the ultrasound aggravated them. I could barely walk at all on Friday but thankfully my Mum took Lily early to a birthday party and Mr Monkey was able to get the evening off work to come home and cook dinner for me.
The pain had subsided a little by Saturday and we drove off to my cousin’s 21st birthday party. Mr Monkey went paint balling with the birthday girl and a few others (gathering some rather impressive bruises along the way) while I headed to my Aunty’s house to celebrate her grand-daughter’s 4th birthday with Lily and my niece. Everyone joined us for dinner and then we headed home for a much needed sleep.
Sunday saw us at a 3rd birthday party for one of the Mums Group babies down south and then Mum stayed overnight and cooked us a yummy dinner of hamburgers – a pretty massive feat seeing as we don’t have a stove at the moment!
The one thing I did manage to do last week (thanks to my Mum as well) was fold and organise a lot of the clean washing. There are still piles in our bedroom but they have been organised and just need to be put away. There is still a lot of dirty washing to be washed but I have a feeling not much is going to be washed if the weather keeps being mucky like it is.
This morning Mum took Lily to her last swimming lesson for the year while I stayed at home as the tradesman had arrived. I made myself a cup of coffee and settled down with the laptop to get organised. Mum returned with a cafe coffee for me and I have to say that the two coffees was probably the best thing I’ve done today. I may regret it later tonight but I feel energized and organised and am actually getting stuff done!
I’ve worked through my emails, sending replies that I have been meaning to send for a week. I got up and randomly put something away – before I knew it I had tidied and decluttered the lounge room. I also dusted a little and cleared off the bookshelves.
I sorted through my tray of “stuff” that sits in the lounge room and actually got rid of most of it – into the filing pile. I then rewrote my to-do lists in my new to-do list book and organised a few things on the internet that I had been putting off.
It all doesn’t seem like much when you write it down but it took me a few hours and I feel so much more accomplished. Once I’ve finished this post I’ll be off to hang out the load of nappies and put another load on. Once the tradesman has finished for the day I’ll sweep out the front as he was using it to cut wood and do other stuff. If I feel up to it I might even go upstairs and put away the washing and tidy up a bit.
Perhaps I need to have 2 coffees more often. I feel good today!
The plan for this week’s cleaning zone;
♥ Clean Couches
♥ Clean window
♥ Declutter TV cabinet
♥ Mop tiles
♥ Sweep outside
♥ Tidy off top of bookshelves
♥ Tidy shoes
