My cleaning mojo did come back a bit last week – I got some of the laundry and bathroom cleaned. But then I got sick mid-week and am still trying to get my strength and energy back so it went a little downhill from there.
Today the landlord organised a tiler to come in and fix the tiles in the kitchen that were uneven and really unsafe. They were like that when we moved in and the landlord had been saying they were going to fix them.
The tiler pulled up the tiles to discover a huge hole underneath. Yup, that’s right, a hole. As you can see in the picture above (if you are reading via RSS you’ll have to click through to see the picture) he has put down a board so that we can at least walk across and get to the bathroom. The real estate sent out a flooring guy to have a look at it and he didn’t exactly fill me with hope – it’s a big job and the stove will have to be removed to be able to fix it. It’s likely the whole kitchen floor will have to be removed and re-done. So, I’m not really sure where that leaves us. If they have to re-do the floor we won’t have access to the bathroom or the backyard/laundry.
For the moment, I’m working on the assumption that we will still be here this week. Luckily this week’s cleaning zones are the bedrooms, upstairs and away from all of the craziness.
There is a lot of clean washing that needs to be put away and the bedside tables really need to be cleared off and dusted but otherwise it’s pretty good. Lily’s toys are actually fairly tidy at the moment so her room is pretty good. But I desperately need to sort through her clothes, put away the winter clothes and work out what she’ll need for summer.
The plan for this week’s cleaning zone;
♥ Clean balcony doors
♥ Clean mirror
♥ Clean wardrobe doors
♥ Clean window
♥ Clear bedside tables
♥ Fold clothes
♥ Rotate Toys
♥ Tidy nappies
♥ Tidy under beds
