No, that’s obviously not a picture of my bedroom. It’s one of the ceilings at Curzon Hall where the Digital Parents Conference was held last week.
Sometimes I hate that when I started this blog (2 years ago!) that I made a promise to myself to be honest about what I actually got done. I hate when I come on here to write the new Cleaning Zone post, knowing that I really haven’t done anything the week before.
And yes, this is another of those weeks. I really have no excuses. I just didn’t do it. It’s starting to annoy me.
Although on Sunday Mr Monkey did help out and vacuumed all of downstairs and the stairs, and got Lily to help tidy the lounge room and some of her room. All while I washed the mountain of dishes and tried to get through the mountain of dirty washing. I also folded some of the clean washing but didn’t put it away. We also still have some of the baby’s clothes in bags that have come from storage at Mum and Dad’s house. I started to organise those ready to go in the drawers and somehow fell asleep on the floor. And yes, those clothes are still on our bedroom floor.
So this week, I’m going to actually do something. I know, I know. I’ve said that before. A lot. But really the house is starting to get a little ridiculous. The bedrooms desperately need a tidy, especially Lily’s room. I need to organise the baby’s clothes into the drawers that have been moved in to our bedroom, and reorganise the nappy baskets on to the top of the drawers. There’s also the clean washing to put away. I probably need to reorganise my wardrobe to even get my clothes away, but it doesn’t seem worth it until I’m out of maternity clothes – I don’t really know what clothes will still fit me after this baby’s born.
So, wish me luck. Better still, give me a kick up the butt. I plan to have the house tidy, especially the bedrooms, by the end of this week.
