I made a little more effort last week cleaning in the bedrooms but there is still so much to do – I got the bedside tables cleared, folded all the clean clothes and put them away. Lily tidied her toys up one night and then didn’t really play with those ones for the rest of the week so they stayed fairly tidy. She also made her bed each day.
But I still didn’t get the window, mirror and wardrobe doors cleaned, carpets vacuumed or nappies tidied.
The house in general stayed fairly tidy during the week as well and I worked through the washing. But I still don’t feel like I’m back on track yet.
I still want to do a 30 Day Challenge to get back into a routine but whenever I think about organising it I feel guilty that I’m not doing something else. Like I should be doing my assignment, or actually doing the housework. Or writing a blog post. Or paying attention to my daughters.
Lily has started using her Toddler Chore Chart again this week. She did so well for the first half of the week, especially as we also implemented a 9pm bedtime. She’s never had a bedtime before but she’s taken to it really well. I think we might even be able to move it 8.30pm this week.
The second half of the week wasn’t as good as we were down at my parents’ house. I made an effort to ensure she was still working on it but it was a little harder. It will be interesting to see if she can go this week doing it as we’ll be home all week.
We told her that if she got lots of stars this week she’d get something special at the end. She’ll get a small chocolate this week as she didn’t do all of them but we’re going to tell her that if she is able to get all of the stars she’ll get something extra special.
Just had a thought, perhaps I should create a star chart for myself! Maybe I’ll get the whole zone cleaned this week
