Last week was a bit of a write off in terms of cleaning. It started with Lily drinking some off milk on Monday (she grabbed the bottle out of the fridge) and spending the night vomiting. Tuesday was a quiet one as none of us really got much sleep. Wednesday night Mr Monkey came home from work feeling very, very sick and ended up having Thursday off work. Thursday night I started feeling very, very sick and am still feeling the effects. We think it was possibly a bit of food poisoning or a stomach bug and I’m still finding that I don’t have much of an appetite. We were all feeling a little stir crazy by the end of the week and Friday night was a tough one after Lily refused to sleep and threw a big tantrum.
It’s just been one of those weeks really. Luckily we got quite a lot done on Monday before it all went to hell. We pulled the couch out, decluttered the cupboard under the stairs and decluttered the end of the bed in the spare room, putting some of it under the stairs. We vacuumed downstairs and then decluttered the cupboard in the Computer Room and the top of Lily’s drawers.
I also managed to get a few other tasks done during the week but still need to vacuum upstairs and mop.
The kitchen is a bit of a mess – I just couldn’t keep up with the dirty dishes. The floor desperately needs a wash but I tried to keep most of the surfaces tidy and clean (except for the bench with the dirty dishes).
I also want to attack the top of the fridge – all of our plastic containers and lunch boxes and other random containers have been piled on top, and it’s always in danger of falling down. It needs to be decluttered and reorganised.
So here’s what I need to get done this week;

- ♥ Scrub stove top
- ♥ Clean cupboard doors
- ♥ Clean out fridge
- ♥ Clean small appliances
- ♥ Clean big appliances (outside fridge etc)
- ♥ Mop floor
- ♥ Clean microwave
- ♥ Clear off top of fridge
So there you have it, my plan for the week. I’ll let you know how I go at the end of the month.
