Our Living Room is fairly clean at the moment – I do a 5min rescue each day which seems to keep on top of things. Our Computer Room definitely needs its own zone so I’ve changed it, at least for now.
Well this week is going to be a big one. I’m starting to get annoyed with how long it is taking me to sort this room and I’m sick of it being being the most cluttered room in the house. I am determined that this is going to change this week!
We have allocated a filing cabinet in to our budget and we picked it up yesterday, just need to put it together. This will make a huge difference to our current paperwork situation – I am going to put it downstairs and will also have a drawer for Mr Monkey’s work paperwork. We will be able to file things as soon as they come in the door instead of being left in piles.
The biggest task will be filing what is already here. I think I will keep the past tax years in the folders that they are already in. I will probably file last tax year in one of the bottom drawers and start this tax year in another. I planning to do it all alphabetically by “supplier”. Or should I do it by category? Or should I not separate tax years and just have it all together? Hmm I think I need to think about this a little more. Do you have any tips?
I also need to sort out the stationery that I had put up away from Lily. I would like to de-clutter the cupboard as well but I know I already have enough on my hands. As it is, I think I’m going to have to get Mr Monkey to help. I think the filing cabinet is going to make the biggest difference as I will be able to move everything straight in to it.
So, anyway, here’s what I’m going to do this week:

- ~ Tidy off desk
- ~ Filing
- ~ Tidy off top of drawers
- ~ Tidy off top of bookshelves
- ~ De-clutter cupboard
- ~ Vacuum
- ~ Sort out Lily’s clothes
So there you have it, my plan for the week. I’ll let you know how I go at the end of the month.
