I’ve been feeling like a bit of a fraud lately.
I created my Cleaning Routine in 20 Days Challenge and basically acted as if I had some authority on the subject. Here’s the perfect routine to clean your house!
And yet… my house is a mess. I never fully complete the routine – some days I don’t even come close. How can I tell you how to clean my house when I can’t even clean mine?!
That’s why you haven’t seen anything further with that challenge. I’ve got great plans to change it into an ebook with extra content and printables. Besides the fact that I don’t have time to do that, I’ve been fighting the feelings that perhaps I shouldn’t. Who wants to hear from someone that doesn’t follow her own advice?
But then I keep reminding myself of everything my psych told me – nobody is perfect. No system is perfect. I simply need to aim to be the best that I can be. At that time, in each moment. If the best that I can be this week means not achieving the whole routine, that the washing falls a bit behind, that I don’t wash the dishes every night, then so be it.
And that’s the aim of my routine; if you complete the routine in total each day then yes, you will have a fairly clean and organised house. And if you don’t, it’s ok. NOBODY IS PERFECT.
So this week I’m going to make more of an effort to be closer to completing the routine. We have a quiet week this week without much happening so I have more chance of getting something done.
Lists are going to be my friend this week.
