It’s been awhile since I’ve written one of these posts. But since I’ve finished the Cleaning Routine in 20 Days Challenge it’s about time I got back in to zone cleaning.
Side note – you’ll notice there will be less posts in the future. Posts every day was definitely just a one off for the challenge! I should go back to my normal routine – meal plan on Sunday, Cleaning Zone on Monday and hopefully other posts on Wednesdays and Fridays.
So, cleaning. Due to the cleaning routine the house has been fairly… tidy lately. It definitely could be a lot better but it’s better than what it was before.
I was feeling so overwhelmed by the housework and by taking it one step at a time I was able to get back in to it and feel like I was managing it.
Of course, as I’m writing this now (Sunday afternoon) I’m feeling overwhelmed. Simply because I have so much to do! Plus, I didn’t wash the dishes last night (Lily got to sleep really late and I was exhausted) so there’s that added work and stress. But I’m taking it one step at a time and I’m determined not to get too overwhelmed again.
This week it will be a little difficult to get a lot done as we have Lily’s birthday and party this weekend. We’re also at the in-law’s house today for most of the day. But we’re home for the Tuesday – Thursday and I’ll have to make sure I spend those days cleaning.
This week’s cleaning zone is the kitchen and while I have been making sure it’s clean most nights by washing the dishes, wiping the benches and sweeping the floor, it definitely needs some proper attention.
The benches need to be cleared off and cleaned properly, the fridge needs a really good clean and the stove top could use a good clean too. I’ll admit I’m not even going to face the oven this time, that will just be too much.
