I’m sharing some photos from Chloe’s 1st Birthday party – a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme. Yup, Chloe’s one. I can’t believe it either!
The cake – they were chocolate packet mix cakes (to keep things easy). The head was made from a simple round cake and the body was made with a bundt tin. We sliced it in half to create two cakes and then cut them up to make the different sections. The icing is just coloured buttercream with licorice and M&M’s for decoration.
Beautiful hangings made by Mother-in-Law
No-sew bunting made by me – using craft glue. My Mum is now going to sew around the edges so that we can keep it.
Awesome T.Shirt made for the beautiful birthday girl by my amazing Mum. The caterpillar continues around the back
The birthday girl in her new T.Shirt.
My sister crocheted this headband for Chloe to cover the bruise from her big fall down the stairs last week. It didn’t stay on – Chloe wouldn’t let it!
She’s such a Daddy’s girl
Lily was actually really good – she was just tired from a few big days before and threw a tantrum just before the party started
Me and the birthday girl
The family – the best photo we could get.
Chloe grabbed her sister and started licking her all over her face. No idea where that came from.
So happy the sun came out so the kids could enjoy the playground and ball pit. Just a pity it was really windy!
While taking photos before cutting the cake Chloe decided it would be a good time to chew on my nose and give me a “kiss”
My favourite photo from cake time – In the middle of everyone singing Happy Birthday, Chloe decided to give me a great big smooch on the cheek and lick on the lips.
Cutting the cake
Chloe got to have her first full piece of cake. She loved it.
See?! I love the little green icing “booger” up the nose!
Such tiny, big hands.
Chloe barely opened any of her own presents!
