Giveaway - Thor: The Dark World - The Flying Drunken Monkey

“Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos… but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.”

I will admit that I’m rather a fan of the Avengers movies. I’m not really a comic reader (just never got in to it) but I love the movies based on the old comics. I’m also a BIG fan of Robert Downey Jr so I love the Iron Man movies. It helps that Mr Monkey is also a big fan.

Since having our girls and with Mr Monkey’s crazy work schedule we don’t tend to get to the movies much. We don’t even tend to watch many DVDs either. Our dates normally involve a trip to the cinema but they only happen once every blue moon!

When the new Avengers series movie was released, Thor: The Dark World, we both really wanted to go and see it. However, we never seemed to make it there, especially as it was only a few months after Chloe was born.

When I was approached by Mango PR to run this giveaway I realised I still hadn’t seen it. It was released on the 5th March so I grabbed myself a copy. I would’ve liked to watch it with Mr Monkey but I wanted to get this giveaway up ASAP for you guys so I watched it one night when he was at work.

It was great to be able to sit down after Lily was in bed and Chloe was asleep, pop the movie on the laptop and just tune out to the real world for a little while. Something I was sorely in need of.

Too often I spend the evening with the TV on in the background as I do blog work or study or just random internet surfing and never actually feel like I’m getting a break.

Thor: The Dark World is perfect for an escape from the real world, especially as it’s based on another! The special effects are stunning, Chris Hemsworth’s abs are amazing and I actually rather liked Tom Hiddleston as Loki. There were some moments of great humor and some rather touching moments.

Lots of fun and a really great evening!

To win one of three DVD copies of Thor: The Dark World just fill in the form below and let me know what you do to escape from every day life.
