Meal Plan - The Flying Drunken Monkey

How yummy does that cake look above? I made it for our Christmas celebration with both my family and my in-laws. It’s just a simple yoghurt cake (all in one bowl!) and I used a yoghurt with lemon which gave it a lovely subtle lemon flavour. It’s on my list of recipes to blog!

Meal Plan:

♥ Monday – Pizza with Grandma & Grandad
♥ Tuesday – Chickpea & Veg Cous cous Salad
♥ Wednesday – Curried Sausages & Mashed Potato
♥ Thursday – Quiche & Salad
♥ Friday – Mac & Cheese
♥ Saturday – Oven Baked Risotto with Chroizo
♥ Sunday – Chicken Pasta Bake

It feels a little strange to be back meal planning after a few weeks off over Christmas and New Year. We spent an extra week at my parents’ house (mostly just so I could ignore the anxiety of our housework) and returned on Friday. I’ve been using up meats in the freezer for the past few days and will be heading to the shops to do a proper grocery shopping on Wednesday.

Grandma & Grandad are coming over tomorrow while Mr Monkey and I head to the movies. He got a voucher as a bonus from work for working so hard over the holiday period (127.5 hours in 10 days straight!) and we decided to use it to see the new Hobbit at La Premiere. Should be a little fancy! We’ll probably just order pizzas in and if Mr Monkey can finish weeding the back yard we might even be able to eat outside!

Tuesday will be a quiet one – Mr Monkey is off work and I’m hoping to have some one-on-one time with Lily and go to the library, something we haven’t done since before Chloe was born. Still using up things from the cupboard so will make a simple Chickpea & Veg Cous cous Salad.

Wednesday Mr Monkey will be back to work and we’ll be doing the grocery shopping. I’ll be making my Curried Sausages & Mashed Potato again as it’s been months since we’ve had it.

Lily goes back to school on Thursday; she’ll be going both Thursday and Fridays this year. Keeping things easy for both nights with quiche and homemade mac and cheese.

Will spend Saturday quietly at home as I’m sure Lily will be tired after her first two days at school. I’ve been craving chorizo lately so looking forward to the a href=”” rel=”nofollow”>Oven Baked Risotto with Chroizo.

Sunday we have one of the first parties for the Mums Group toddlers (we missed the first before Christmas because of my tonsillitis). So I’ve planned an easy Chicken Pasta Bake for that evening as I know we’ll all be tired.

What’s on your meal plan this week?

Getting my meal plan together and publishing this post was my short-term goal this week, that I set with my psychologist. So go me! :)
