Hi I’m back! Did you notice I was missing a little? Probably not
My laptop charger wasn’t working. And then my laptop wasn’t working. It was horrible – I really hadn’t realised how much I had come to rely on a working laptop. When you use it to update your blog (which sometimes brings in a little income) and to do your study (which you aim to use one day to bring in income), you realise exactly how important it is.
I ordered a cheap, imposter charger from eBay which only worked for a few days. So I bit the bullet and ordered a proper Apple charger. Which didn’t work at all. I thought the laptop battery must’ve died so took it to the Apple store to see if they could fix it. Embarrassingly, they opened it up to discover it was full of cockroaches. Those damn filthy things, we just can’t seem to get rid of them. The lovely Apple people told me that was likely the reason that it wasn’t turning on and sent me on my way (while quietly judging me I’m sure). I took it home, opened it up and vacuumed out the bugs. Of course, it still continued not to work.
The next day I was driving down to my parents’ so took the non-working laptop with me, just in case my brother could figure out what was wrong. I decided to try my sister’s charger, just to see if that worked. Well, what do you know? It did! And then my charger worked! I’m still not entirely sure what happened but I think it may have something to do with the powerboard at home.
I’m still at my parents’ until Tuesday so am using the opportunity to get some study done. We’ll head home some time on Tuesday so I’ve just planned some 2 minute noodles for dinner as I know we have those in the cupboard.
We’ve moved Lily’s swimming lesson to Wednesday just for next week then we’ll head off to do the groceries.
Thursday and Friday Lily is back at school and I’ll probably be attempting to do some housework.
Saturday is an exciting day! It’s the engagement party for Mr Monkey’s brother and his fiance. It’s an afternoon party but I’m assuming that we probably won’t be in the mood for cooking dinner so I’ll just see where the afternoon takes us.
Sunday will probably just be a quiet day at home, although I’m pretty sure Mr Monkey has to work.
Meals are fairly boring this week – keeping things simple and easy, based on what we have in the freezer and what I know is fairly cheap at the moment.
