A bit of a quieter week – at least one with more days at home.
Not much planned until Wednesday when I head to my usual night at the Buddhist Centre and Mum and Dad will be babysitting. We plan to head to a local pasta supplier for a tomato-based dish.
Thursday we have a blogging event in the city – the first that all 3 of us will be able to attend. We’re really looking forward to it! It finishes around 1pm so I wanted an easy dinner – chicken burgers made from chicken mince it is.
Friday Lily has her second day at “school” (childcare). She started last Friday and LOVED it! She was very shy when we arrived and wouldn’t look at the teacher but she gave me a kiss goodbye, he took her off to get some breakfast and she didn’t get upset. I went to pick her up at 3.30 and was told that she settled in “phenomenally”; she played well with the other kids, ate all of her lunch and was “very talkative”. She even had a 2 hour nap! We drove straight to pick Mr Monkey up from work and then down to my parents’ house and she talked and talked the whole way. I am so, so glad that she enjoyed it and I know she’ll continue to enjoy it.
Last week and the day of her orientation she had pasta for lunch so I’m going on the assumption that Friday’s are pasta days (they provide all meals for the children) so will have to make sure not to plan pasta for Friday dinners. Lily seemed to take a liking to meatballs at my Mum’s house the other night so will make up a few with mash and vegetables for Friday dinner.
Another day at home at on Saturday and an easy Chorizo Fried Rice for dinner.
Sunday we are probably heading out to Grandma & Grandad’s house for dinner and a chance to go to the movies to see Life of Pi – I won a double pass thanks to a local bookshop.
